The eBook reader is a great device, but really only works well to read books. I have one and it is great, however, it is a single purpose device.

I owned the 770, but sold it after a month. I just couldn't get past the sluggish feeling of the device, something the n800 is alleged to have overcome.

Some day my OQO 2 (http://www.oqo.com) will come in and I'll post a review of that and of course, in June we have the iPhone to contend with.

I really do like the UX, though I have been hesitant to leave my laptop behind except for one day trips. I really wish Apply would give us an ultra-portable device!

Bonus time is coming and I'm debating which gadget to get this year. Leaning heavily towards Sony's ebook reader, since when I'm not working on a PC or wrangling kids I'm reading (or blogging). Would be nice to carry around a large library around in my pocket. Still, killing time in an airport or wherever, you want to get caught up on your email or RSS feeds, etc. but the ebook reader has no connectivity capability. Test drove a friend's Nokia 770 (not dissimilar to the new 800), which is Linux-based and can wifi all day long (and play movies and hold ebooks, and what have you) but the screen is just too small for reading for long periods of time. Oh, and it's about five-times cheaper than the UX380.

Decisions, decisions . . .
